BOTTLES SAVING BABIES?

By now most of you are familiar with the Alpha Baby Bottle Bank. Certainly they have been our most successful “Fun” Raiser and the income received from them has helped keep the doors open in Vacaville and Fairfield. Clearly, they are saving babies. But, did you know that our little banks are saving babies in an even more concrete way? In fact, since we are quite frugal and recycle our bottles each year-you may now have the bottle that really “saved a baby.” A few months back, when Pastor John and I were at our Monday morning post in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, (Monday is abortion day) we met a young lady who attended a church in Fairfield. At first she seemed unapproachable (as many of them do!)-but then she said: “Are you the folks who do those little baby bottle banks?” I responded that we were-and she told me that she had seen them at her church-in fact, she had picked one up! Of course, I inquired as to why she was at Planned Parenthood! She told me that she was only there for a pregnancy test, but, sadly, often we are not told the truth by the clients entering that place. Even in exercising their “choice” there is a certain amount of shame. Anyway, after speaking with her and encouraging her to go to the Alpha Center for a test, she left-and I honestly don’t know if she was intending an abortion or not. But she left. Because our message is getting out, because you are filling the bottles with your treasure, because God gives us the Grace to be out there each Monday, she left. And maybe one little baby is alive, because she left. Thank you for making it all possible.
